Week #28

It seems that I should be on week #30. I simply haven't been up to dealing with the unfriendly computer that doesn't seem to "recognize" me! Confirm this, wrong password that, slllllooow downloads and uploads so much so that I want to toss the tired thing out the into the desert. Lately, I haven't to be in the mood to deal with all of the idiosyncrasies that the internet and or computer software is tossing my way. Nope, I'd rather be creating!

Learned: hand made paper can be fused to lutradur. I used stitch witchery that I purchase by the bolt. Easy light-weight fusible.

Components: handmade paper, patina laden copper, heat distressed painted lutradur not yet attached to black backing. I can't decide how much black border to leave around the piece. Not enough of a border and I wouldn't be able to frame this 5x7 inch piece.

Sorry you've got computer issues gail. There's nothing more frustrating. Yahoo ate my email after I'd spent ages writing it tonight. Grrr!

I like this copper piece, beautiful colours. Interesting to hear that you can fuse to Lutradur.

I love the way you constantly experiment. It inspires me a great deal. I love what you've been doing, especially with the handmade paper. A few years ago, well more than a few, I was OBSESSED with making hm paper and castings. That was before I got involved in altered/mixed media art.

I feel the stirrings in me to experiment with paper pulp as you have been doing. I still have my yard sale blender, and wow, I even know where it is!

It has been on my mind to do that for many months, but I just haven't gotten around to it. Hopefully, one of these days I will.

This piece is very cool and abstract. And yes, I do love abstract. In a number of ways, I think our art, and art styles, are similar. One of these days I'll send you email about that.

At any rate, I find this piece very raw and interesting, it's the kind of art I'm drawn to. Thanks for your explanation of how you made it. Your art always touches me, and makes me think.

Love your creations always.
Thank you for the tip on Stitch Witchery .... I do have some Misty Fuse which is super lightweight. Sometimes a bigger "bite" with more body is nicer.
Are the crossed pieces on the paper also copper? I had to lighten the photo in Paint to see it a bit better. Beautiful!
