They're more brown black, and ivory white than black and white and nearly impossible to color correct for posting.
The substrate is 4-ply mat board that was heavily textured before washes of paint were done. The first two work well as a diptych. (pay it forward 4x6 size prints available on etsy.)

Hi Gail, Did you get a email from me today. I sent one using the email under your profile. I don't think it went, I got an error. Let me know.

Oh WOW Gail! You're an artist after my heart, dear girl! I totally, absolutely LOVE these -- I think they are some of your best work.
They really resonate with me right now, because I'm working on an art piece for my sister, and have been thinking a lot lately of abstracts. I'd like to make her either a nature piece, or an abstract, or combine the two.
I've been kinda stuck though on actually starting it, I think out of fear and indecision. Looking at these gems gives me inspiration and hope, and comes at just the right time. These are great -- keep doing them. I'm serious!!!
Great compositions and I love the colours.
Hey Gail you know I love this kind of work great pieces all of them.
How did you do these? If you don't want to say no biggie but just curious!
I know what you mean about colour correcting. These make me want to get my paints out and have a play. Love the texture and line you created to start with.
I am not very good about planning either. I tend to go with the flow and sort things out as I go along. Just occasionally I plan but I have to force myself to do it.
i really love these Gail, the movement and flow underneath is just wonderful! like trees in a breeze they both have movement the texture and the paint!!
These are gorgeous! Your creative energy is really astounding. I'm so impressed!
I got a chance to check out your beautiful Etsy shop. I loved it! I'll be back!
Love these. You are certainly multi-talented in many mediums.
