#30 of 52 projects

Grids, oh how I love them.

Components: background is hand dyed palomino gold bleached muslin. Hand made stamp, grid, stamped in blue and white on blue green dyed unbleached muslin; raw frayed edges. The blue muslin was machine stitched in red onto the gold fabric and finally edge stitched. Confusing.

Basically, it's two pieces of hand dyed fabric, one stamped and sewn onto the base fabric and machine stitched. (click on photo to enlarge)

I love the use of the honeycomb like stitch and the frayed edges with the fibers loose on the top. The grid pattern... is that a stamp you carved? Very cool. Love the complimentary colors too. Very soothing.
Rock on!

Very interesting Gail, I really love how the grid is not perfect. Like "C" said the colors are soothing, I could see all kinds of things I could do with the pieces though I realize that's not your goal with this project.

Nice! The textures you have achieved here are quite compelling.

I love the colors and textures and grid pattern. Very innovative. You do great things with fabric and fibers.
