Memorial Day


1943, my dad is second from the left. And, above, with my Aunt Gladys, the only remaining sibling of four; she's now 86.

And I'm proud to be an American,
where at least I know I'm free.
And I won't forget the men (and women)
who died,
who gave that right to me.
